About the Artist

The artworks of Canadian-Iranian artist Maryam Ebrahimi are magnetic in their meditative flow and captivate the viewers and collectors from all over the world with their calming silhouettes and vibrant colours. An exquisite professionally trained artist, her art works have been showcased and collected both nationally and abroad.

Maryam Ebrahimi is known for the use of limited colour pallets combined with heavy layers and seamless brush strokes. Her original work is full of depth, movement and hidden element; thus, it invites the viewer to explore the unexpected textures like music sheets and mechanical drawings used as part of the overall composition.

Her practice is a balancing act between yin and yang. To promote harmony and balance, she merges the dynamism and energy of the yin with the tranquility of the yang. One area of the artwork will be full of texture while the background will be a calm area where the viewer's eyes can rest and the mind can be at peace. Her goal is to show that opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary and interdependent in the natural world.

Fly Me Away #95

“As a painter, I’m drawn to create because it’s how I make sense of the world. The act of painting lets me explore layers of thought and feeling that can’t be put into words. It’s less about seeking perfection and more about discovering new forms and textures, capturing moments that resonate with me. Painting is a personal dialogue, a way to process life visually, and in that process, something essential about myself finds expression. "
